Paperless Lab Academy: the well-known congress, and much more…
If you work in a laboratory or you are interested streamlining their processes, no matter what industry you belong to, you probably know Paperless Lab Academy as the unique European Learning Platform for those who aim at simplifying the management of scientific data and digitalizing the laboratory processes.
The Paperless Lab Academy, that just ended the 7th edition of the Congress, is ready to welcome the 8th edition in 2020 and, as many of you may have heard already, it will also introduce the first Asian edition, that will take place after summer 2020 in India.
Hence…the Congress, yes, but not only.
Over the years, Paperless Lab Academy has grown into a real center of education, the “Academy”, as you can tell by the very name, indeed!
Alongside the annual congress, Roberto Castelnovo and I, as organizers of the event, decided to make of PLA a 360° learning platform, with the aim of providing people with training content not only during the days of the event but 365 days a year.
Paperless Lab Academy – the Webinars & the Training courses
In light of what said above, we decided to enrich the Academy with two specific typologies of contents: webinars and training.
Keynote speakers, influencers of the sector as well as Roberto Castelnovo and myself, as domain experts are willing to share their knowledge and experience in order to support companies in the digitalization processes of their laboratories, to keep them up-to-date on innovations, methodologies, trends, and news from the lab informatics industry, to put them in the condition to know the latest state-of-the-art technologies and evolutions.
With reference to the Webinars, we´re already offering sessions from last winter. More recently, on May 8th, Mr. Bob McDowall, Director of R D McDowall Limited, offered the participants his 45 years experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry and focused on a hot topic: how a paperless approach can help data integrity in a regulated laboratory.
And for those who still favor human contact over the online educational sessions? We also thought about this 😉
Congress, webinars, and, last but not least, Training, who are addressed to those who want to benefit from interactive workshops and discuss their own situation. The training courses of the academy combine theoretical interduction to key concepts and methodologies, as well as on practical applications of what discussed, in order to make them as concrete as possible and get the maximum out of them.
We launched this project on April 8th, the day before the starting of #PLA2019, with a training hold by Mr. Peter Cohen, principal at Second Derivative, and another one hold by Mr. Roberto Castelnovo, owner and managing director at NL42 Consulting.
The first results were a success: Peter’s training, focusing on “how to deliver an effective Demo”, attracted a good number of solution providers aiming at improving their skills in presenting their software.
Roberto’s training focused on “how to set the stage for a Paperless Transformation of the laboratory processes”: an interesting and interactive session that saw the participation of a large audience among the attendees of the #PLA2019.
The success of this initiative led us to organize more appointments in different countries and in local languages.
Setting the stage for a Paperless Transformation of the Laboratory Processes: the Italian and Spanish appointments.
To all the Italians and Spanish that are interested in the topic, do not miss our next appointments:
June 18th in Rome
June 19th in Milan
June 25th in Madrid
June 26th in Barcelona
In this session, Roberto Castelnovo will share his professional expertise and experience in driving successful digital projects.
Why attending the Digital Transformation training?
During the training, Roberto will introduce the main concepts related to the digital transformation of the laboratories processes, providing concrete examples on how to prepare the project and successfully implement it. The objectives for the attendees are:
- Improve how project objectives are defined
- Improve the quality of the documentation for the preparation of the project
- Design the best system mapping according to your company’s needs
- Improve how the business case is presented to the company’s management
- Increase the effectiveness of the system selection
- Reduce the implementation risks
With the training, participants (laboratory managers and scientists, IT staff, operational managers and senior managers) will learn how to set the stage for a digital transformation project, define how the software systems should fit into the overall strategy, select the systems that better suit to the company/laboratory needs and design an implementation plan to reduce the related risks.
The training will offer the opportunity to learn the principles on how to design, prepare and implement a digital transformation project for the laboratories. The attendees, therefore, will have the opportunity to discuss concrete scenarios and prepare the ground for the journey to digitization.
A unique occasion to learn more about the topic and benefit from the practical sessions!
